Rainbow Six Siege Delayed

Ubisoft Announces Rainbow Six Siege Delay

By Hunter Braine

Rainbow Six Siege, Ubisoft new highly anticipated shooter was set to release in October, with the beta coming at the end of September.  However now Ubisoft has officially announced the game will launch on December 1, 2015.

Ubisoft says they came to this decision based off of player feedback.  Rainbow Six Siege has been playable to the fans at different events such as E3, Gamescom, and RTX, and has even held a closed Alpha.  Ubisoft says all of these events have helped them gain a better understanding for what the fans want from the game.  With all of these events and feedback, Ubisoft chose to push back the game a few months to give the players a game they could be more then happy with.  Ubisoft also said the beta would still be released on September 24.

I actually agree with Ubisoft to push back this game.  I have played the game first hand at RTX, and it was a blast, the co-op felt fun and engaging, the game looks beautiful, and there was always something to be done.  However when the demo was done I didn't feel I took anything from the game.  At the end of the day it was a classic shooter with different objectives.  I think given the extra time, Ubisoft can polish the game to make it stand out among the rest of the fall releases.

What do you think about Ubisoft's decision?  How will Siege hold up against other releases this year?  Leave a comment down below!

Microsoft Responds to No Split-Screen Critcisms

Microsoft Responds to Halo 5 Criticism

By Hunter Braine

Microsoft announced earlier that Halo 5: Guardians would not have a split-screen option for it's campaign or multiplayer.  As a staple of the Halo franchise, this news didn't go over well with fans of the series.

The Development Director Frank O'Connor stated on Twitter "If we could do it, we would do it.  But it's what they call 'nontrivial.'"

It was back in July 343 announced there wouldn't be split-screen stating it was necessary to provide the best gaming experience to Halo 5.

What fans of the series don't seem to realize is how much work goes into something like split-screen.  having various parts of the map loaded at one time requires a lot of power, which is usually why when games have split screen, they downgrade the resolution to accommodate the extra players.

343 deciding to no implement split-screen is disappointing however if they're desire is to produce the best graphics and gameplay, I stand by the decision and look forward to playing on October 27.

YouTube Breaking Away From Google+

YouTube Breaking Ties with Google+

By Hunter Braine

Today in YouTube's Official Blog it was announced that YouTube and Google+ would be going their separate ways.

In the blog post they say YouTube is breaking away from Google+ based on user feedback, and they give a breakdown of how some aspects will change.

They first discussed comments, changing the ranking system to reduce the visibility of junk comments while rewarding quality ones.  Comments made on YouTube will also only appear on YouTube and comments made on Google+ will only appear there, not on YouTube, this feature rolls out today.  One feature that will stay is the moderation options.  This means blocking certain words or reviewing comments before posted will all stay on YouTube.

Another aspect they discussed was what will happen with your YouTube channel.  One of the biggest changes is YouTube will no longer require a Google+ profile if you want to produce content, this has been one of the top requested changes since the integration of Google+.  In the coming months users will be able to remove their Google+ pages from their YouTube pages.  However we advise you do not do this now as doing so will delete your YouTube channel.

Bungie Shows Off Destiny Expansion The Taken King

Bungie Releases New Details for The Taken King Expansion

By Hunter Braine

The new expansion for Destiny, The Taken Kings comes out in a little over a month, but today Bungie gives us a look at the brand new guns coming to the game.

In the new expansion, comes three new product lines, all with their own special attributes and specializations.  Bungie says this is a taste of what's to come.

The new brands are Hakke, which seem to have tightly focused base stats preventing them from spiking in stats like other brands do.  Hakke's perks are focused on offensive damage and combat tactics.

Omolon is the second brand of weapons, their focus is on energy weapons focusing on generous base stats and focus on behavioral perks rather then stats customization.  Perk selection for these weapons are meant to go beyond the weapon and effect the player's abilities and stats.

Lastly is Suros, which focuses on customization for the player.  They offer two columns of two stat perks, higher then any other gun brand in the game.  These guns are meant to adapt to your play-style, close quarters to long ranged, quick to powerful, fast handling to hard hitting.

The Taken Kings comes out September 15, 2015 and will cost you $39.99, for more on Destiny and everything gaming, keep it here at Carbyne Studios.

Witcher 3 Gets Huge Patch

Huge Patch Coming to Witcher 3 This Week

By Hunter Braine

CD Projekt RED announces Patch 1.07 coming to The Witcher 3 this week instead of a free DLC, this patch includes many major fixes to the game as well as brand new features added.

One of the biggest changes coming to the game is the ability to stash your extra items in different towns spread throughout the game, there have been various complaints about too many items and not enough storage, CD Projekt RED gives players a solution to that in this patch.

Other changes include changes to horse behavior in the game as well as an "alternative movement response mode" for Geralt.  Changes to Alchemy and Crafting components are coming as well, making them weightless in your inventory and diagrams being able to be pinned meaning all elements needed to make a potion or armor will be marked in the shop menu.  All these features and more make me believe Projekt RED cares about the players and will continue to strive for their satisfaction.

Fallout 4 Details

Fallout 4 Gets Big Announcements At E3

By Hunter Braine

At E3 2015 Tom Howard talked about a ton of news about Bethesda new Fallout title, and we're excited about all of it.

Fallout 4 looks absolutely gorgeous so far, starting off before the bombs have actually dropped in downtown Boston, Bethesda showed off an amazing character creation and prologue to the amazing adventure that is Fallout 4.  Including a robot who actually says your name.

The biggest thing Bethesda announced about Fallout 4 I would say was the crafting and building features of the game.  being able to interact and salvage various objects around the world to use for gun modifications and building your own stronghold is unbelievable and an amazing addition to the Fallout universe.

Howard finished off the conference saying Fallout 4 would be available to the world on 11-10-15, however you can get a small fill of the universe with the iOS game Fallout Shelter which was released right after the conference for free.  It was also announced that a copy of Fallout 3 would be released along with your purchase of Fallout 4.

Fallout 4 Officially Announced

Fallout 4 Officially Announced

By Harrison Wingfield

So It comes as little shock today that all the leaks talking about Fallout 4 were true, at 3PM GMT today, Bethesda officially announced Fallout 4 is heading to consoles and PC.
The game looks as though it's to be set in Boston, as previously speculated, and looks like it's also running on an entirely new engine.  The animations look a lot smoother than any previous Fallout game we've seen and so I guess gone are the days of clunky animations and bad textures in Fallout games!

It seems that the game will be released for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.  We don't have an official release date yet but, c'mon, why else would they announce this so close to their first ever E3 press conference right?

For now, we have the trailer shown above, and some box art shown below:

Bethesda Confirms Fallout 4?!

Bethesda Confirms Fallout 4?!

By Owen Price

The day has come for all gamers to join together and rejoice. Yes that's right Bethesda has announced the long awaited next instalment of the Fallout franchise; Fallout 4..Or have they?

Earlier today Bethesda tweeted this picture with the hashtag #PleaseStandBy.

Embedded image permalink

Along with the image the tweet also included a link to a new website you can check it out here http://fallout.bethsoft.com/

The website shows a countdown that finishes tomorrow at around 3pm GMT.

The countdown is done in the art style of fallout and certainly raises gamers hopes that we will see the long awaited Fallout 4. but some people are still hesitant. Carbyne's very own Harrison Wingfield stated "Here's the thing, we know it's the fallout styling, and we also know it's official, BUT I wouldn't hold my breath. I mean they could pull a real dick move and announce fallout online."

Unlike Harrison I am confident that Fallout 4 is going to be announced tomorrow. It all makes sense. Now that Bethesda has tweeted this, and bearing in mind that this year marks Bethesda's first E3 conference, AND the fact that there has been a confirmed Fallout 4 trailer on LinkedIn(you can find out more about this by clicking here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NC3Nx1CG4dE) I'm more than confident saying we will be getting our fix of a post apocalyptic waste land fairly soon. I am willing to go even further and say that at Bethesda's E3 conference, we will see the mentioned Fallout 4 trailer and maybe even some early game play, but that might be a stretch, maybe I'm just a hopeless optimist.

What do you guys think about this? Are you excited at the possibility of a new Fallout? or are you still being cautious about this whole announcement?

XCOM 2 coming to PC exclusively in November

Secretive project from 2K Games revealed to be a new XCOM game

By Harrison Wingfield

Today, it was revealed first on IGN that XCOM, the popular turn-based alien-shooting strategy would be coming exclusively to PC this November.  So naturally, we're all left wondering "well, what about a console or mobile version?" (because after all, XCOM has a history with being a popular game on the Google Play and Apple stores respectively).  However, I think it's safe to assume that it's going to be on consoles and your nearest tablet in 2016 at least.  We're not 100% sure if that's the case, but we can dream, right?

As far as the game itself goes, a trailer has been released on IGN's YouTube channel, which you can check out below:

As for the game itself, the following quote has been released:

"XCOM 2, the roles have been reversed, and XCOM is now the invading force. They are hampered by limited resources and must constantly evade the alien threat in their new mobile headquarters. Players must use a combination of firepower and stealth-like tactics to help XCOM recruit soldiers and build a resistance network, while attempting to expose the evil alien agenda and save humanity. XCOM 2 will introduce gameplay features such as procedurally-generated levels, which will make each experience unique to the player, as well as offer a much deeper level of modding support. Additionally, XCOM 2 will offer a variety of new content including five updated soldier classes, increased soldier customization, more alien and enemy types, evolved tactical combat and more."

XCOM 2 is being developed by Firaxis, famous for previous XCOM games and the Civilisation franchise.  2K are publishing the game.

Bioshock Developers Working On New Horror Game

Former Irrational Games Developers Reveal New Horror Game Perception

By Hunter Braine

A team of developers formerly at Irrational Games has revealed their new project Perception, a adventure horror game similar to Outlast and Alien: Isolation.

The trailer shows a female lead named Cassie Thornton who is apparently blind, and relies on echo-location to see where she is going.  All of the sounds of the house, from the old pipes to the grandfather clock make vibrations which not only helps the player see, but adds for a truly horrifying experience.

The developer of the game, Deep End Games is comprised of many of the developers of Bioshock and Bioshock Infiniteincluding Bill Gardner who was the design director on Bioshock.  Gardner says with Perception, he's looking to change how horror games are played.

Perception seems like a great take on the horror game genre, bringing a new aspect with the echo-location.  As more and more games come out in this survival horror genre where weapons are unavailable and running and hiding seem to be the only option, it's nice to see a developer branching out and trying something new, I'm really looking forward to trying this game out.

Withcer 3 Devs Respond to Graphics "Downgrade" On Release

CD Projekt RED Responds to concerns of graphical downgrades during development

By Hunter Braine

CD Projekt RED said the graphics are not as good as shown in the VGX PC trailer they showed two years ago.  Company co-founder Marcin Iwinski and studio head Adam Badowski spoke to Eurogamer with an explanation.

Iwinski started by saying the console version of the game did not hold back the PC edition.
Iwinski states "If consoles are not involved there is no Witcher 3 as it is, we can lay it out that simply.  We just cannot afford it, because consoles allow us to go higher in terms of the possible or achievable sales; have a higher budget for the game, and invest it all into developing this huge gigantic world."

Iwinski continued by saying if the game was on a single platform, it's true they could have gotten more out of it but financially that was just not possible.  He went to to explain the versions at the tradeshows and gameplay demos are just pieces of the game, programmed to run at a very high fidelity.

A patch for the game that hopes to bump up the graphics for the PC, while Projekt RED contiunues to look for solutions for other platforms.

By Hunter Braine

If you don't own an Xbox One or just really like the color white, Microsoft has you covered.  According to Major Nelson himself, they will soon be released an all white Xbox One with a digital copy of Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

The console would include a wireless controller, also white and a copy of the game.  Their will be limited quantities of this console as well so be sure to be on the look out later this month.

For those who don't know Halo: The Master Chief Collection includes 4 Halo titles including Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo 4, so with this bundle you essentially get 4 games included.

It is also worth mentioning a Halo 5: Guardians console is coming out later this year along with the game, we don't know yet what that will look like but if that interests you, you may want to hold off.
