Withcer 3 Devs Respond to Graphics "Downgrade" On Release

CD Projekt RED Responds to concerns of graphical downgrades during development

By Hunter Braine

CD Projekt RED said the graphics are not as good as shown in the VGX PC trailer they showed two years ago.  Company co-founder Marcin Iwinski and studio head Adam Badowski spoke to Eurogamer with an explanation.

Iwinski started by saying the console version of the game did not hold back the PC edition.
Iwinski states "If consoles are not involved there is no Witcher 3 as it is, we can lay it out that simply.  We just cannot afford it, because consoles allow us to go higher in terms of the possible or achievable sales; have a higher budget for the game, and invest it all into developing this huge gigantic world."

Iwinski continued by saying if the game was on a single platform, it's true they could have gotten more out of it but financially that was just not possible.  He went to to explain the versions at the tradeshows and gameplay demos are just pieces of the game, programmed to run at a very high fidelity.

A patch for the game that hopes to bump up the graphics for the PC, while Projekt RED contiunues to look for solutions for other platforms.
